Gaelic

As a native Gaelic speaker I know the areas where you can still hear the ancient language of Scotland.

If you are a learner of Gaelic, I can take you on a personalised Gaelic tour where you can get the chance to practice your Gaelic with other Gaelic speakers.

We have some of the most beautiful songs ever written which take in the  most beautiful areas of Scotland.  For instance the lovely song Loch an Eala tells the tale of the young daughter of one the  clan chiefs who forbade her to see a certain young man living on the opposite side of the loch. She  and her suitor had been passing messages to each other across the loch in a bottle but one day in her father’s absence she decided to cross the loch by herself in a rowing boat. The wind blew up and her boat got into difficulties and sadly she was drowned. The song mentions a variety of areas in North Argyl and a tour of these while hearing this haunting song would be an unforgettable experience. If you have a favourite Gaelic song why not let me know and I could arrange a unique tour taking in the sights and sounds of  the song.

Air sailleadh gu bheil Gàidhlig agam, tha mi eòlach air na sgìrean far a bheil Gàidhlig fhathast ga bhruidhinn ann an Alba.

Mu tha sibh ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig, ‘s urrainn dhomh cuairt sònraichte Gàidhlig a thuirt dhuibh far an urrainn dhuibh Gàidhlig a bhruidhinn ri Gaidheil eile.

Chaidh cuid de na h-òrain as àlainn Gàidhlig is fheàrr a th’ann a’ sgrìobhadh mu àiteachan bòidheach ann an Alba. Mar eisimpleir, tha Loch an Eala ag innse sgeulachd nighean òg aig fear de na ceann-cinnidh a thuirt nach urrainn dhith fear òg bho taobh eile na locha fhaicinn. Bhiodh an dithis a’ cur teachdaireachdan gu a chèile ann am botal tarsainn an loch ach aon latha, nuair a bha a h-athar air falbh, chaidh an nighean tarsainn an loch ann a geòla beag. Thog a ghaoth suas agus chaidh am bàta fodha agus bhàsaich an nighean òg. Chaidh grunn àiteachan ann an Earra-Ghàidheal ainmeachadh anns an t-òran agus ‘se turas sònraichte a th’ann a’ dol timcheall an sgìre agus ag èisteachd ris an t-òran seo. Mu tha òran Gàidhlig agaibh a tha a’ còrdadh ribh, innse dhomh agus ‘s urrainn dhomh cuairt sònraichte a chur air dòigh mun cuairt an t-òran, a’ toirt a-staigh na seallaidhean agus fuaimean na h-òrain. Tha lughdachadh ann am pris airson luchd-ionnsachaidh agus an fheadhainn aig a bheil Gàidhlig cuideachd.
